Overview
The account
Abd al-Rahman ibn Habib broke with al-Walid. He cherished that frontier because of what his grandfather Uqba ibn Nafi had left there. Hanzala withdrew from it, and Abd al-Rahman stayed. When Yazid ibn al-Walid became caliph, he did not send a governor to the Maghrib. When Marwan ibn Muhammad rose, Abd al-Rahman wrote to him, professed obedience and sent him gifts, and Marwan confirmed him over the frontier. 1
After him
He was succeeded by Ilyas ibn Habib, then Habib ibn Abd al-Rahman, and then the Berbers and the Ibadi Kharijites prevailed. 1
Needs an additional source: the date; the conversion to CE is derived.
