Overview
Description
Al-Haddad reads from the photographs the great care given to it: a free-standing form without precedent, a projecting entrance block, striped stonework, basins, arched recesses, arches and hexagonal piers with engaged corner columns, merlons crowning the façades, and inscriptions including the verse al-Insan 76:21, which he notes Evliya Çelebi also saw on some sabils of Medina. 1 3
Its place
The author sees the Mina sabil as a splendid finale to Islamic sabil architecture in the Arab lands and the Hijaz, since it gathered many elements and details rarely found together in one sabil. 2
