Overview
Zayn al-Din Yusuf, son of Zayn al-Din Ali, lord of Irbil. He came to Salah al-Din with his armies, fell ill, and died on the eighteenth of Ramadan in the year 586 AH. He had no brother other than Muzaffar al-Din, and no son 1.
Succession of Irbil
The people of Irbil wrote to Mujahid al-Din Qaymaz asking him to come and make them their ruler, because of their preference for him and the goodness of his conduct. He did not dare to, out of fear of Salah al-Din. Then Salah al-Din granted Irbil to Muzaffar al-Din, and added to it Shahrazur and its districts, Darband Qurabaqli and Banu Qufchaq, in exchange for Harran and Edessa 1.
