Overview
Abu Bakr ibn Abdallah ibn Aybak al-Dawadari, a historian and secretary, author of the historical encyclopaedia Kanz al-Durar wa Jami' al-Gharar (The Treasure of Pearls and the Compendium of Rarities). 1
His encyclopaedia deals with the history of Egypt and the Islamic states, and combines political reports, literary anecdotes and poetry. He was born around 685 AH (1286 CE) and died in 737 AH (1336 CE), according to report. 1
