Overview

Harim ibn Hayyan al-Abdi, a commander of the Rashidun period. Al-Baladhuri reports in "The Conquests of the Lands" that Uthman ibn Abi al-As (may God be pleased with him) sent him to the fortress of Shubayr, and that he took it by storm after a siege and fighting. 1

Another report, which al-Baladhuri transmits from "some", says that he took the fortress of al-Satwaj by storm. The name of the fortress is therefore a point of disagreement in the source. 1

The index records his march to Khurasan and the conquests he made there in 31 AH.
