Summary

'Amid al-Dawla Sharaf al-Din Abu Mansur Muhammad, son of the vizier Fakhr al-Dawla Ibn Jahir; he deputised for his father in the vizierate, and when Abu'l-Ghana'im Ibn Darast displaced him at Nizam al-Mulk's signal, he went out to Nizam al-Mulk Abu 'Ali, vizier of Malikshah b. Alp Arslan the Seljuk, seeking to restore the vizierate to his father. 1

What followed

His father had made terms with Sultan Malikshah and arranged Diyar Bakr for him; his son Abu'l-Qasim took the city of Amid after a hard siege — 'lord of the chiefs' — and then he himself took Mayyafariqin in 479. 1
