Overview

Abu'l-Hasan al-Mu'ayyad b. Muhammad b. 'Ali — of Tus by origin, of Nishapur by home — surnamed Radi al-Din; a muhaddith of the highest isnad among the later men, he met a company of notables and took from them. 1

His hearing

He heard Sahih Muslim from the jurist Ibn al-Fadl al-Farawi — last survivor of his companions — the Muwatta in Abu Mus'ab's riwaya from Hibatallah b. Suwayd al-Sindi, and the Qur'an tafsir of Abu Ishaq al-Tha'labi from 'Abbasa; he transmitted much and men journeyed to him from the quarters; Ibn Khallikan holds an ijaza from him out of Khurasan, sought by his father in 610. 1
