Overview
Al-Malik al-Mansur Nur al-Din Ali ibn al-Mu'izz Izz al-Din Aybak. Shajar al-Durr killed his father in the bath on the night of Wednesday, 14 Rabi' I 655 AH. Al-Mansur sat on the throne on Thursday, 15 Rabi' I, aged fifteen 2.
According to al-Maqrizi
Al-Maqrizi says that his maternal uncle, Amir Sayf al-Din al-Dud al-Jashnakiri, had been one of his father's emirs. When Qutuz rose against al-Mansur, he arrested al-Dud in Dhu al-Hijja 657 AH 3.
He says that al-Mansur's reign lasted two years, eight months and three days, and that Qutuz deposed him on Saturday, 14 Dhu al-Qa'da 657 AH 2.
Ibn al-Imad adds that he was enthroned after his father's murder, at fifteen years of age 4.
