Shihab al-Din Abu al-'Abbas Ahmad al-Sharji al-Zabidi is the author of al-Tajrid al-Sarih li-Ahadith al-Jami' al-Sahih, as the title page of the Nayl al-Awtar printing names him — the printing whose margin carries Siddiq Hasan al-Qannawji's commentary on his book, 'Awn al-Bari. 1
