Overview

Abu Fakiha al-Jahmi, client of Safwan ibn Umayya. 1 It is said that he was a client of the Banu Abd al-Dar, and it is said his origin is of the Azd. 1

Torture and manumission

He accepted Islam early. Umayya ibn Khalaf tied a rope to his foot and dragged him until he threw him on the hot sand and began to strangle him. His brother Ubayy ibn Khalaf came and said: "Increase it." He kept at it until he thought he had died, then Abu Bakr al-Siddiq passed by, bought him and freed him. 1
