Overview

Abu al-Tayyib Muhammad ibn al-Mufaddal ibn Salama ibn Asim al-Dabbi al-Baghdadi. Al-Shirazi describes him as a distinguished scholar, from a generation most of whom were companions of Abu al-Abbas ibn Surayj. 2

Al-Shirazi does not give his date of death. The editor's note, citing the Fihrist and Ibn Khallikan, points to 308 AH; the date needs a second source. 2
