Summary
Malik transmits from Uthman ibn Hafs ibn Umar ibn Khalda from Ibn Shihab that it reached him that Abu Lubaba ibn Abd al-Mundhir (may God be pleased with him), when God accepted his repentance, said: Messenger of God, I will abandon the house of my people in which I committed the sin, and I will be your neighbour, and I will strip myself of my property as charity to God and His Messenger. The Messenger of God said: a third of that will suffice you. 1
