Summary
Malik said: if a man deliberately assaults his wife, puts out her eye, breaks her hand, cuts off her finger or the like, intending that: she is retaliated for. As for a man who strikes his wife with a rope or a whip, and hits her with his blow without intending or wanting to, he owes the blood-money for what he hit in that way, and no retaliation is taken from him. 1
