Summary
Malik transmits from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr (may God be pleased with him) ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm (may God be pleased with him), from his father, that in the letter the Prophet ﷺ wrote to Amr ibn Hazm about blood-money: for a soul, a hundred camels; for a nose cut off entirely, a hundred camels; for a head wound that reaches the brain, a third of the blood-money; for an abdominal wound, the same; for an eye, fifty; for a hand, fifty; for a foot, fifty; for each finger, ten camels; for a tooth, five; for a wound that exposes the bone, five. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that there is no disagreement from Malik in his transmission of it as mursal; it is a well-known book among the historians of the campaigns, and it is transmitted connected by a sound route. 1
