Summary

Malik says: if what is measured or weighed, eaten or drunk, differs in kind so that the difference is clear, there is no harm in taking two for one hand to hand. There is no harm in taking a sa' of dates for two sa's of wheat, a sa' of dates for two sa's of raisins, or a sa' of wheat for two sa's of ghee. When the two kinds differ, there is no harm in two for one, or more, hand to hand. If a term enters, it is not permitted. 1
