Summary

Malik says it reached him that a man wanted to buy food from a man on credit. The seller took him to the market and showed him the sabr dates, and said: which of these would you like me to buy for you? The buyer said: will you sell me what is not with you? They came to Abdullah ibn Umar and told him about it. Ibn Umar told the buyer: do not buy from him what he does not have, and told the seller: do not sell what you do not have. 1
