Summary

Yahya transmits from Malik, from Jafar ibn Muhammad, from his father, from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him), that he used to say: if a man makes an oath of ila against his wife, no divorce falls on him when the four months pass, until he is stopped; then he either divorces or returns. Malik said this is the practice among us. 1
