Summary
A report that Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab from Ali ibn Husayn ibn Ali (may God be pleased with him) ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him), from Umar ibn Uthman ibn Affan (may God be pleased with him), from Usama ibn Zayd (may God be pleased with him), that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: a Muslim does not inherit from an unbeliever. The editor notes that al-Tirmidhi thought the correct name was Amr ibn Uthman (may God be pleased with him), and Ibn Abd al-Barr said the established name from Malik is Umar ibn Uthman, as Yahya narrated, and that agreement is more deserving of acceptance. 1
