Summary
A saying of Malik: the best of what he heard about an animal that escapes from the claws of a falcon, or from a dog's mouth, and then dies while waiting, is that it is not lawful to eat. Likewise, anything the owner could have slaughtered while it was in the claws of a falcon or the mouth of a dog, but he left it while able to slaughter it, until the falcon or the dog killed it, is not lawful to eat. 1
