Summary
A saying of Malik: he sees no harm in what a hooked stick strikes, if it pierces and reaches a vital part so that it may be eaten. He argues from a verse of Surat al-Ma'ida about God testing believers with some game that their hands and spears can reach, so anything the hand, the spear or some weapon reaches, pierces and strikes a vital part of, is game. 1
