In the Tabuk expedition
- Ibn Ishaq said the excuse-seekers of the Bedouin were — "it was mentioned to me" — a band of Banu Ghifar. 1
- The Prophet asked Abu Ruhm al-Ghifari (may God be pleased with him) about those of Banu Ghifar left behind. 2
- The Prophet placed them with the Muhajirun of Quraysh, the Ansar and Aslam in his saying that the dearest of his people to him were those who would not stay behind him. 3
