Overview
Ibn al-Athir relates that the land of al-Ta'if belonged to Udwan ibn Amr ibn Qays Aylan, and that the Banu Amir ibn Sa'sa'a took it from them after a fierce fight. 2
The agreement
The seizure
Thaqif planted vines and fruit and kept the terms for a time. Then, when they had multiplied and grown in standing, they built a wall around al-Ta'if and refused the Banu Amir half the fruit. The Banu Amir tried to take it and could not, and they fought them and did not prevail. 2
The date is approximate, from the history of al-Ta'if before Islam.
