Overview
The last portion of al-Tabari's History of the Prophets and Kings that he dictated reached the year 302/914, as Ibn al-Nadim reports; scholars afterwards abridged it, stripped its isnads and appended continuations 1.
Al-Farghani's continuation
Among those who continued the History was his own student Abu Muhammad Abd Allah al-Farghani, who had prepared an edition of it and wrote a supplement containing a long obituary notice of his master 2.
