Overview
Murad I built a new palace outside the walls of Edirne's citadel and moved into it in 767/1365-6, having found the tekfür's castle palace inadequate 1.
The Old Palace
Evliya Çelebi places the Old Palace near the Selim mosque in the Kavak Meydanı quarter, ringed by high walls some 5,000 paces in circumference, with a gate called the Bab-ı Hümayun 1.
