Overview
The name
The year was so called because the community gathered in it under one caliph. In it, Mu'awiya appointed Marwan ibn al-Hakam over Medina. 2
Note
al-Suyuti does not affirm the month. The Gregorian date is derived and rests on a single source. It needs an additional source.
