Overview

The sirat in the creed is the bridge stretched over Jahannam which people cross after the standing; the Sharh describes it as finer than a sword's edge, slippery 1.

In the sources

The Sharh's sirat chapter describes a bridge over Jahannam crossed after the standing, 'like a sword's edge, slippery' 1.

From Sheikh Omar Abdelkafy's Tafsir lectures (episode 4)

The Sheikh cites a hadith that on the Sirat there are hooks like the thorn of the sa'dan, a thorn that grows in the Arabian Peninsula and is eaten by camels. He likens them to curved hooks like those a chandelier hangs from, and says each hook seizes the person whose sin it is assigned to 2 3.

Islamic eschatology

Islamic eschatology is the part of the creed concerned with death, the signs of the Hour, resurrection, reckoning and recompense; the Tahawiyya and its Sharh devote a chapter to belief in the signs of the Hour, noting that scholars devoted whole works to its hadiths.
