Overview
A literary epistle by al-Shaqundi, preferring al-Andalus and its people over the land of the African shore. It is counted among the best-known texts of Andalusian pride. 1
Al-Maqqari cites it in "Nafh al-Tib" when describing Cordoba, Seville, Granada and the cities of al-Andalus and their scholars. 1 Among its praises is its saying of Granada that it is the Damascus of al-Andalus, the stage of the eyes and the aspiration of souls. It also mentions the mild air of Seville and the sweetness of its water. 1
