Overview

Muhammad Sa'id ibn Ramadan al-Buti. "Mawsu'at a'lam al-ulama wa al-udaba" describes him as a figure of Islam: a scholar of the foundations of jurisprudence, a jurist, a reformer, and a careful linguist, born in Damascus into an old family. 1

The encyclopedia gives his birth as 1894 CE (1311 AH) and his death as 1976 CE (1396 AH). 1 These dates need an additional source, since this source alone is not enough to fix them.
