Summary
Al-Malik al-Mas'ud Najm al-Din Khidr ibn al-Malik al-Zahir Rukn al-Din Baybars. When what befell his brother al-Malik al-Sa'id — told in the entry on Qadi Jalil — drove him to al-Karak, his brother al-Malik al-Mas'ud Najm al-Din Khidr, son of al-Malik al-Zahir, was made its king by agreement of his father's mamluks and emirs who were there, and he held and resided in it. He then came down from it under safe-conduct after being besieged there during the tenure of Amir Husam al-Din Turantay al-Mansuri, deputy of the sultanate. Khidr remained there until 685, when Sultan al-Malik al-Mansur Sayf al-Din Qalawun al-Salihi, known as al-Alfi, took it from him in exchange in a settlement between them; he moved to Egypt and stayed in service. 1
