Overview

Mulabbid ibn Harmala al-Shaybani, leader of the Kharijites in al-Jazira. He rose in the caliphate of al-Mansur in 137 AH, and was killed in 138 AH. 1

His rising

The source says that al-Mansur sent Yazid ibn Hatim al-Muhallabi against him, and Mulabbid defeated him. Al-Mansur kept sending commander after commander, and Mulabbid kept defeating them. 1

His death

Al-Mansur at last sent Khazim ibn Khuzayma against him with about eight hundred thousand men of Marw al-Rudh, according to the source. They fought at length, and then Khazim ordered his companions to shoot them with arrows. They shot Mulabbid, and many were killed with him in 138 AH. 1
