محمد بن عبد الله القمي

Muhammad ibn Abdallah al-Qummi, a governor whom al-Mutawakkil appointed over the mines of Egypt, the Qulzum, the road to the Hijaz and the pilgrims of Egypt. ¹

Al-Baladhuri says that he fought the Buja with a small number of men. He hung bells on his horses, their camels took fright, and their king was killed. In 241 AH he made peace with his successor on a tribute and an annual payment. He is the commander of al-Qummi's war with the Buja. ¹

In the report of al-Maqrizi he returned to Baghdad with their king, Ali Baba. Then Sa'd the servant appointed him over the Buja and the road to Mecca; he camped at Aswan and died there. ¹

His approximate date of death (around 843 CE) is derived.
