Overview
Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Said, a vizier whom al-Maqqari describes as distinguished, far-famed, high-minded and rich in wealth. 2
Career
He was born in 514 AH and held many offices for the Almohads in Marrakesh, Salé, Seville and Granada, and his governorship reached over the affairs of Granada. 2
Al-Suhayli mentions him in his commentary on the Sira, and says that he saw the letter of the Messenger of God to Heraclius kept in honour with Alfonso. Al-Rusafi praised him. 2
The Mansur ordered him arrested in 593 AH, and then was pleased with him again. He died in Sha'ban 589 AH in Granada. 2
It should be noted that in the data the year of death (589 AH) comes before the year of arrest (593 AH), which needs review against the source.
