Overview

Known as Dhu al-Shahadatayn (the one of the two testimonies). When the Qur'an was gathered, Zayd ibn Thabit (may God be pleased with him) found the last two verses of Surat al-Tawba with him alone. 1

In al-Isaba

Ibn Hajar gives him his own entry in al-Isaba, no. 2310: "Khuzayma ibn Thabit ibn al-Fakih ibn La'laba ibn Sa'ida ibn Amir ibn Ghayyan ibn Amir ibn Khatma — his name was Abd Allah ibn Jusham — the Ansari of Aws, later of Khatma; his mother was Kabsha bint Aws al-Sa'idiyya; his kunya was Abu Umara. He was among the earliest forerunners; he witnessed Badr and what came after, though it was also said his first battle was Uhud. He used to break the idols of Banu Khatma, and the banner of Khatma was in his hand on the day of the Conquest." 2
