Overview

Isa ibn Musa al-Abbasi. The data mention him in two reports: his war with Ibrahim ibn Abdallah ibn al-Hasan in al-Baladhuri, and his being charged with killing his uncle Abdallah in al-Mas'udi. 1 2

In al-Baladhuri

He encamped to fight Ibrahim ibn Abdallah ibn al-Hasan ibn al-Hasan. Abu al-Asad encamped between him and his camp, and dug the canal known as the Canal of Abu al-Asad at al-Bataih. 1

In al-Mas'udi

Al-Mas'udi relates that al-Mansur charged him with killing his uncle Abdallah. He consulted Ibn Abi Layla, who said: "Go ahead with what you were ordered." He consulted Ibn Shubruma, who said: "Do not do it." He refrained and made it appear that he had killed him. According to the report, al-Mansur wanted to kill him and then kill him in return, so as to rid himself of both of them. When Isa feared for himself he said: "He is with me; I have not killed him." 2
