Overview
Ibrahim ibn 'Isa ibn Yusuf, the imam, worshipper and precise hadith scholar Diya' al-Din Abu Ishaq al-Muradi al-Andalusi; he came to Egypt, heard the companions of al-Silafi, copied much in his fine hand, led prayer at al-Badra'iyya, endowed his books and turned to Sufism. 1
Al-Nawawi's praise
Shaykh Muhyi al-Din al-Nawawi said he was brilliant in hadith and its sciences and in the critical editing of its texts, above all the two Sahihs — "I never saw his like"; he added that he was devoted to language, Arabic, fiqh and the ways of the Sufis, a man of magnanimity, compassion and counsel rarely equalled. He died on 4 Dhu'l-Hijja 667 AH. 2
