Summary

The master Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Furak — usuli, adib, grammarian, preacher of Isfahan; he taught in Iraq then settled in Nishapur, where a madrasa and house were built for him; his works in usul al-fiqh, usul al-din and the meanings of the Qur'an approached one hundred, and he was summoned to Ghazna where many debates were held for him. 1

His refutations and end

He was fierce in refuting the Karramiyya; returning to Nishapur he was poisoned on the road, died, and was carried back and buried at the Hanira — rain is sought at his shrine outside Bazar. 1
