Overview
Ibn Barzan, lord of Ramla and Nablus. Ibn al-Athir says he was, after their king, the most highly placed of the Franks. 1
He took part in the Battle of the Ford of Sorrows in 575 AH, where he was taken prisoner together with his brother, the lord of Jubayl, the lord of Tiberias, and the masters of the Templars and the Hospitallers. He ransomed himself for a hundred thousand and fifty thousand Tyrian dinars, and the release of a thousand Muslim prisoners. 1
