Overview
Bukayr ibn Washah, also said Wassah, who was in charge of the police of Ibn Khazim. Al-Baladhuri relates that he deposed him, took his weapons and the treasury, and called the people of Merv to the allegiance of Abd al-Malik, and they gave it. Abd al-Malik then wrote to him appointing him governor of Khurasan. 1
What followed
The head of Ibn Khazim was brought to him, and he sent it to Abd al-Malik, and it was set up in Damascus. Then Umayya ibn Abd Allah appointed him over Tokharistan, and then to the raids on Transoxiana. He turned away, deposed Umayya and imprisoned his son. Umayya fought him and then made peace with him on condition that he appoint him over any region he wished. Then he was accused of seeking to depose him, was seized and imprisoned, and Bujayr ibn Waraqa rose against him and killed him. 1
