Overview

Baybars al-Jashankir, a Mamluk sultan who was given the allegiance to the sultanate on 23 Shawwal 708 AH, after al-Malik al-Nasir wrote from al-Karak to depose himself. The caliph invested him and clothed him in the black robe and the round turban. 2

In Rajab 709 AH al-Nasir came back seeking the kingship, and Baybars fled with a group of his companions; he was then caught and killed in the same year. 2
