Overview

The grand vizier in the reign of Sultan Ahmad III, and commander of the army in the Pruth campaign. 2

Al-Salabi says that treachery, driven by money and women as he sees it, led him to lift the siege from the Russian tsar Peter and his mistress, with two hundred thousand men who nearly fell into captivity. He describes the Treaty of Falkzen in Jumada al-Akhira 1123 AH as a betrayal of the state. It gave Azov to the Russians and undertook not to interfere in the affairs of the Cossacks. The sultan Ahmad III dismissed him. 2

See the Treaty of Pruth. This is al-Salabi's judgement, and the picture needs an additional source.
