In brief

Amr b. Maymun, the imam Abu Abdallah al-Awdi al-Mudhhaji of Yemen resident in Kufa; he arrived in Abu Bakr's time with Mu'adh and narrated from him and from Umar, Ali, and Ibn Mas'ud, while Abu Ishaq, Husayn, Abda b. Abi Lubaba, Muhammad b. Sawqa, and others narrated from him, and Yahya b. Ma'in declared him reliable. 1

Pilgrimages and death

Abu Ishaq says he performed hajj and umra a hundred times and that the sight of him recalled God, and Ibrahim says that in old age he leaned against the wall, and when he heard someone standing in prayer for God he sought refuge in Him. He is said to have died in 75 or 74 AH; his hadith is in the collections but not copious. 1
