Overview

Amr ibn Bakr al-Tamimi, who made a pact at Mecca with Ibn Muljam and al-Burak to kill the three amirs, and whom the sources here describe as a Kharijite. 2

He chose for himself Amr ibn al-As, and struck a man he thought was Amr while he was leading the people in prayer; it was Kharija ibn Mu'abbid or someone else, and he was killed instead of Amr. 2
