Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Abd Allah al-Shushtari, an Andalusian Sufi, said to be from Murcia. 2
His life
Al-Maqqari relates from "Unwan al-Dirayah" that he travelled to the Maghrib and lived for a time in Bejaia, where a group took from him. He had a share in the sciences of reason and transmission, and had followers among the poor and the common people. 2
His poetry and devotion
He has poetry on verification and on the ranks of the people of the path, which contains riddles and allusions by the letters of the abjad. The report describes him as keeping up the lesser and greater pilgrimage every year. 2
His death
He died on Thursday, the ninth of Shawwal 669 AH. The Gregorian date is derived from the Hijri date, and it rests on one source. 3
The source contains a report of a miracle about a call to one who is captured. It is a narrative attributed to its narrator, and we have not verified it.
