Summary

Abu Bakr Dulaf b. Jahdar al-Shibli, Khurasani by origin, Baghdadi by birth and upbringing; he kept company with Shaykh Abu'l-Qasim al-Junayd and the righteous of that age and judged among them. In his early career he had governed a town, then renounced the world; when Ramadan entered he would turn wholly to worship, saying: 'This is a month my Lord has magnified.' 1
