Overview

Abu Muhammad 'Abdallah b. al-Amir Ya'qub al-Mansur the Almohad, called al-'Adil; when 'Abd al-Wahid ruled at Marrakesh he was in al-Andalus, held firm at Murcia and saw himself worthier of power — so he marched on the Maghrib, endured hardships on the way, and fought his brother Abu'l-'Ala' Idris who had taken sole command and taken the title al-Ma'mun. 1
