Overview

Ahmad ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Shuhayd, vizier of Abd al-Rahman al-Nasir, known by the title "Holder of the Two Viziers". 2

Al-Nasir appointed him vizier, and in 327 AH he sent him a famous gift on the eighth of Jumada al-Ula. Al-Maqqari says it contained gold, silver, musk, ambergris, silk and sable skins. He reports that it was agreed no king of al-Andalus had been given the like, and that this is established in the book of Ibn Khaldun. 2

Al-Nasir doubled the stipend of his vizierate to eighty thousand dinars and gave him the title "Holder of the Two Viziers". The source says he was the first in al-Andalus to bear that title, following Sa'id ibn Makhlad, vizier of the Abbasids in Baghdad. 2
