Summary
Malik says that if a man swears 'by God I will not eat this food, nor wear this garment, nor enter this house', and it is one oath, he owes only one expiation. It is like a man saying to his wife: you are divorced if I clothe you with this garment, and if I permit you to the mosque; if these are in one sequence in one speech, and he breaches any one of them, the divorce is due. 1
