Overview
A staff that the Prophet gave to Abd Allah ibn Unays at his home, after his return from the killing of Khalid ibn Sufyan al-Hudhali. 1
Its story
The Prophet said to him: "Keep this staff with you." When people asked him about it, he returned to ask the Prophet, who said: "It is a sign between me and you on the Day of Resurrection; the fewest of people that day will be those who lean on staves." 1 Ibn Unays then attached it to his sword, and it stayed with him until he died. He then ordered it placed in his shroud, and the two were buried together. 1 Scholars explain "those who lean on staves" as those who rest on the makhasir, which are staves. 1

The staff has no material trace. The entry preserves its story as Ibn Ishaq relates it.
