Overview
The Karramiyya were a sect very large in number in Herat and the land of Ghur at the end of the sixth century AH. Ibn al-Athir reports that the Ghurids were all Karramiyya. 2
Ibn al-Qudwa
One of their shaykhs in Firuzkuh was the judge Majd al-Din Abd al-Majid ibn Umar, known as Ibn al-Qudwa, who was of the "Haysamiyya Karramiyya". He held a great standing among them for his asceticism, his knowledge and his household. 2
The debate with al-Razi
Ibn al-Qudwa debated Fakhr al-Din al-Razi before Sultan Ghiyath al-Din in the year 595 AH. The strife that followed nearly destroyed a great many people, had the sultan not intervened, according to Ibn al-Athir. 2
