Overview
A commission the League of Nations Council formed on 14 January 1930, after the August 1929 disturbances over the Western Wall of the Haram al-Sharif, to settle Muslim and Jewish rights there. Three non-British members sat under former Swedish foreign minister Elias Löfgren; it worked in Jerusalem June–July 1930 and ruled unanimously that December: the Wall is part of the Haram esplanade, Muslim-owned as a waqf, while the status quo of Jewish prayer there is preserved. 'Imara's book prints the report's text 1 and reads it as testimony to the Islamic waqf right in the Wall 2.
